Countries' style of associating with foreign countries

It caught my eye in today's news how some Germany's leader described differet countries when he talked with the president of Finland. That seemed to be the point if view which brings Germany's place in the world. But as I have sometimes visited in teh internet news sites of different countries, they seem to ofer news typical to that country's style in some way, like is natural if foreigners want from them influence about their wisdom of life to that type of questions, for example to which their weathers would be a good thing to compare with. But does it then happen that that demand creates the pictures of the wide world of the people in that country and also the position and kind of character of that country in teh eyes of foreigners.
